I was given this artical to create a conceptual and spot illustraion for it. Overall the artical talks about how the crisis, such as Covid , the russian and Ukranin war, climit change, imigration and eonomic fall, will affect the up coming elections across europe.

After reading the arictle sevral times and highlighting the key points, I wrote down the main pionts of the artitcle and what I thought were important points / quote that couild help me with my illustration.

For Idea one I was thinking of using the stars from the EU flag, with polatitions fighting and also showing the crisis in some way. I didn't really like the way going it was getting to busy.
For Idea two I was looking at useing a borad game to reposent the left and right sides of politcs. Or how the 'crisis' are like pieces on a board detemaning the otcome of eupores elections.
I quite liked the broad game Idea. I was going try using a chess broad with a map layed on top and have the pieces be the differnt crisises. However this is a little too complicated. so I decided aganist it.
With my third idea I wanted to do sometime that involed voting, but choice to go even simpler and just focse on the ballot box.

I wanted to put voting slips into the illustration but I didn't want them to be blank, instead I wanted them tho showcase the differnt crisis. This then requied me to deign the five cards that would show them.

Finalizing Illustration.
I needed the cards / voting slips to be as simple as possible, while still being clear of what they are meant to be showing.

Once finalzing the degins, I worked on how I wanted the colours to be arraged. I already knew I wanted them to be blue and yellow becauce those are the colours of the EU flag.

Using the same cards from the main illustration and looking at quotes from the article, I drew a few quick scetches of what i could do for my spot illustration.
